Experience & Philosophy
Michal Jonáš is a personal trainer and physiotherapist dedicated to enhancing movement quality, performance, and rehabilitation for athletes and active individuals. Raised in the Moravian-Silesian region, Michal’s passion for sport and physical movement started early as a professional ice hockey player. This athletic foundation shaped his lifelong commitment to understanding the body’s capabilities and limitations.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Ostrava, Michal relocated to Prague to pursue advanced studies at Charles University. There, he completed his master’s degree in physical education and sport and later studied physiotherapy to deepen his knowledge of human movement and injury recovery.
Michal joined the Advance Training team shortly after completing his physiotherapy degree and has since been applying a multidisciplinary approach that blends rehabilitation principles with performance coaching. He also serves as the physiotherapist for the Czech national U18 basketball team, working directly with elite youth athletes to optimize their movement and reduce injury risk. Additionally, he is a physical therapist at ROOTS Health Clinic, collaborating closely with Dr. Marcin Dochnal, the founder of ROOTS.
His training philosophy centers on tailored, evidence-informed programs that support each client’s goals — whether returning from injury, improving sport-specific performance, or enhancing general health and functional strength.

Beyond Pain Relief
Lenka Zbranková was introduced to Advance Training a year ago after mentioning to friends that she had been struggling with persistent lower back pain. The discomfort had become regular and was no longer going away on its own. Seeking a structured and professional solution, she began working with coach Michal at Advance Training.
Through the training process, Lenka gained more than pain relief. She developed a new awareness of movement beyond the gym — learning how to sit properly, lift heavy objects safely, get out of bed efficiently, and approach everyday activities with greater control and intention. She realized that many daily habits contribute to long-term discomfort when movement is unstructured or inconsistent.
One of the greatest advantages for her is that every session is different, dynamic, and tailored to her body’s current needs. The individualized approach keeps training engaging and purposeful. Because of this, she genuinely looks forward to each session — clear evidence, in her view, that the process works.
Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body
Josef Malíř has been training at Advance Training for over ten years. He originally sought help due to serious health challenges, including a blocked neck and ongoing spine issues caused by long hours in the office, limited movement, insufficient recovery, and demanding work conditions.
Through consistent, professionally guided training, he found relief from chronic discomfort and a sustainable way to support both physical and mental performance. As Josef emphasizes, true professional and personal satisfaction requires a well-rested mind — and that starts with a healthy, well-functioning body. The difference between pain from inactivity and the fatigue of quality training is profound.
Today, Josef strongly recommends Advance Training and confidently stands behind the expertise of its coaching team.
As the Sokol movement says:
“A healthy mind in a healthy body.”
