Tino Janikov, PhD is a performance coach and sport scientist with over a decade of hands-on experience in elite sports, youth development, and academic research. Based in Prague, he combines his formal education with practical coaching methods to help athletes optimize strength, speed, power, and long-term orthopedic health.
Tino holds a Ph.D. in Sport Science from Charles University, where his research focused on the effects of rest duration and fatigue on jump performance. His master’s thesis explored the development of speed and agility in youth basketball players across competitive seasons. He continues to teach and lecture in primary and continuing education programs for trainers and sport professionals.
Since 2013, Tino has worked in professional basketball as a strength and conditioning coach, starting with USK Prague’s youth program. He later joined the Czech national basketball system, guiding physical preparation for the U17, U18, and U23 men’s teams. In 2023, he was part of the coaching team that led the Czech U23 squad to a gold medal at the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China.
He brings a strong clinical understanding to his work with orthopedic rehabilitation and back pain management, combining sport science with individual movement assessment and training precision. Tino is known for his personal coaching style, clarity of communication, and ability to adapt programming to real-world needs—from competitive athletes to everyday individuals rebuilding their strength.
Since 2017, he has been a core member of the Advance Training team, collaborating with experts across disciplines to help clients reach their health and performance goals through evidence-based strategies.
